Tina Louise Avery is a singer-songwriter based in Edinburgh. Her songs draw on real and fictional places and the events, people, and emotions she encounters there. Tina’s clear-voiced lyrics are accompanied by her distinctive finger-picking style. Her influences range from Paul Simon and Kate Bush to Natalie Merchant and Suzanne Vega.
Tina recorded her first 4-track EP ‘River Man’ in 2012 with guitarist Rob MacKillop. The title track, River Man, won the 2013 Loanhead Music Festival Songwriting Competition. She has played support at the Edinburgh and Leith Folk Clubs, and appeared during the 2014 Edinburgh Free Fringe Festival at the Tron Kirk. She is a regular at several open mics in Edinburgh as both player and compere. Tina is often accompanied by guitarist Will Bowring.
