The much anticipated first recording of Sir Tom Watton; whose songwriting style draws upon a broad range of influences (including Richard Thompson, Fairport Convention, Martin Simpson, Jon Gomm and Dead Can Dance). Tom's sound can be described as “modern folk” with a mixture of themes including storytelling, nostalgic poetic expression and social comment.
Tom now performs alongside his partner Irene Carità Morelli, whose voice hauntingly complements the narrative and dances with rhythms of the words. Sir Tom Watton is a stage name given to him by punk poet and album artwork artist Graham Rhodes (It's too long a story for sleeve notes so go and see him live if you want to know more!). Tom is also one of the people who helps to run The Listening Room, and you may have seen him host on occasion!
Tom will be releasing an album of work later in 2015 details to be announced on www.sirtomwatton.co.uk
